United Way Announces 2007 Area-Wide Funding

The United Way of Southern Kentucky announced 2007 area-wide funding for programs serving residents of Allen, Barren, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties in south central Kentucky.  More than $1,350,000 will be distributed to 42 local programs and agencies for the 2007-08 funding year.  Program funding was determined based upon the work of 104 volunteers who spent more than 1,200 hours over the past 12 weeks reviewing funding requests, financial and outcome data, to make recommendations to the United Way of Southern Kentucky Board of Directors.

In addition to funding recommendations for these communities, the United Way Board of Directors also approved funding for agencies and programs serving Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Metcalfe and Monroe counties.  Agencies serving these communities will receive more than $56,000 in United Way support.  Listed below are agencies receiving funding by community.
