Western Kentucky University (WKU) celebrated a successful 2010/2011 United Way campaign today in the Kentucky Room at the Kentucky Building. WKU President Gary Ransdell hosted the luncheon to thank WKU faculty and staff for their hard work on the 2010/11 United Way campaign.
A check presentation was made to United Way of Southern Kentucky representing the total amount raised by WKU in the 2010/11 United Way campaign of $54,693 donated by 464 individuals. The 2010/11 WKU campaign represents a $4,397 dollar increase and 56 donor increase over the previous year. Molly Donnelley also presented a check for $994 to United Way for contributions raised as part of a student event titled “Jail and Bail.” United Way President, Doug Eberhart, presented Dr. Ransdell with the United Way Top Giver Award for being one of the top five organizations for most dollars raised for the 2010/11 United Way campaign (from organizations with the same or increased giving over the previous year).
