Successful Partner Tips

Tips to be successful:

YOUR SUPPORT IS IMPORTANT: Success in your company start with your support. Sharing with your team members why you choose to support United Way and why you are choosing to partner with United Way is an important key.

THE RIGHT COORDINATOR: The opinion leader(s) within your company would make excellent employee campaign coordinator(s) to spearhead involvement with United Way. Many groups choose to place campaign coordinator responsibilities with the HR Team, but that may or may not be the best group to work with United Way. Allow your coordinator the time and flexibility to be successful.

LIVE UNITED AWARD: Review the LIVE UNITED Award suggestions and qualifications in this section and learn some of the things that others have done which in the end encouraged team work, increased morale, and increased productivity through the availability of the opportunity to give back to those less fortunate.

YEAR ROUND SUPPORT: United Way is a great deal more than a fundraising group. We are involved and engaged in volunteering, advocating and giving year round. We encourage you to get your group connected by holding food drives, communicating volunteer opportunities to your team members, and educating them about available services and how to access them. When conducting a campaign within your company, it is important that your employees are able to ask how and where they can get services or share stories about how they have received help. Make it easy for your team members to have a better life by providing educational opportunities about United Way.

TRACK YOUR SUCCESSES: Keep a record of the many things that your team accomplishes that help others in the community. Share with them the results of their efforts. While they are working, they have still been able to help others simultaneously through a partnership with United Way.
