Larry is a man in his early 50’s who has been laid off from the construction industry. He has multiple skills in various disciplines of this trade such as plumbing, electrical, roofing, and woodworking; however, he has been unable to become re-employed for several months. Larry has made the decision to use this time of unemployment to work on passing his GED. He has made rapid progress atttending the Simpson County Literacy Program, and it appears that he should be able to reach his goal in a relatively brief period. He attends every available class, and he works hard to complete additional material on his own time. He has a very positive attitude, and he looks at his time of unemployment as a gift that allows him the time to work toward a long deferred goal.
